Making Wishes and Chasing Dreams

Every 38 seconds, a child in the USA is diagnosed with some life-threatening illness. That's a statistic that no one wants to hear.

The Make A Wish Foundation was set up to grant wishes to children, children who, sometimes, have little time left in their far too short lives.

The Colorado branch of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, with help from individuals and corporate sponsors, has been granting wishes to children in that state for 30 years. International Jet Aviation Services, a charter and maintenance facility out of Centennial, Colorado, is helping to make dreams come true with a Learjet they call the Dream Chaser 4.

The Dream Chaser 4, outfitted in rainbow colors and Sharpied by all its passengers, took flight yesterday over Denver, giving these kids a bird's eye view of their city. Before they took off, though, the kids got to try on the Captain's jacket and hat, and posed for the local media, including CBS Denver.

H. William Milam lll, the Chairman and CEO of International Jet, says "In the fall of 1979 Lynn Krogh and I started IJet with one small and slow Cessna 421B prop plane. Like many new small business owners we made a quiet promise to ourselves that if we ever made a success of our charter business we'd give some of it back, in some way, to the community."

Today, IJet has the biggest charter fleet of Learjets in the Rocky Mountain region.
